Grotto Committee

Since 1949 the first Sunday in May is the occasion of a procession from St Joseph’s Church to the Lourdes Grotto in Glanmire. The procession is an impressive expression of faith and devotion to Our Lady.

Its success is due in large part to a hard working committee whose current members are: John Egan (Chairman), Chris Mulcahy (Secretary), Noel Cummins, Eric Downey, Frank Fehilly, Fred Lotty, Mick Mullins, Michael Quinlan and Kevin Whooley

The procession to the Grotto takes place on the first Sunday of May. It leaves from St Joseph’s Church at 3.00 pm and moves to the Grotto where a homily will be delivered and Benediction will be imparted.
