Lay led Liturgy

Glanmire Parish has started to make provision for lay-led liturgies on one day a week.

These services have a lay minister leading the congregation in 15-20 minutes of prayers, readings and, where possible, hymns.

The lay led liturgy takes places at St Joseph’s on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am. A similiar service will be introduced at St Michael’s during 2022.

Where a Wednesday is a special day of devotion in the Church, e.g. Ash Wednesday or a Holy Day of Obligation, Mass will be celebrated, with the lay minister acting as Minister of the Word and also delivering the reflection at this Mass.
